Honoring a brave defender of human lives in Cumberland BC.

Ginger Goodwin was a union supporter who tried to help save lives in the Cumberland mines. Miners were being made to work in dangerous conditions and getting lung diseases. Ginger fought for their rights, but eventually was shot after a man hunt, by police. The authorities were determined to shut him down. This is why the portion of the Island Highway passing Cumberland BC, is named after him.
