  1. Goose Spit Beach. This is a peninsula of land that is maintained by the community, with large logs embedded on the edge of the beach to prevent sand drifting onto the road. It is a busy place now with the population increases that have occurred in the Valley. There is kite surfing in the winter, and in the better weather, paddle boarding, kayaking, and whale watching. In April/May, you can watch the Canadian Forces Snow Birds jetting over the valley in marvellous arial manuveurs.

2. Comox Harbour Pier

This pier allows you to be practically out on the water. Seals, herons, and sometimes whales swim by regularly. The view is comforting, and you feel like you are in a big hug, between the mountains and the boats docked in the harbour. In the summer, there are often musical events, and sailing races to watch.

3. Almost anywhere along the Tsolum River.

The beauty and harmony of nature are evident along this river. There are many swimming locations, the water is clean and cool, warming up a bit in July/August. The Tsolum River Restoration Society has revived the river to allow salmon to swim up and spawn, and keep the river clear of debris.
